Skyhawk Village Mixed-use Center:
Designed as a true mixed-use center, Skyhawk Village is the final phase and anchoring element to the Skyhawk Development and Linear Park.
Designed by architect Ken Lafranchi and built by JMA with many design/build trade contractors, the center consists of seven storefront retail spaces with seven luxury apartments above in the west building. There is a seven car garage structure that serves as an amenity to the apartments, and 6,200 square feet of premium office space above the boutique grocery store, Skyhawk Market, in the east building.
A courtyard plaza sits between the two main structures with sitting for outdoor dining and an elevator for access to the second level.
The buildings address the complex issues of private versus public uses by facing the retail facilities south towards the parking lot and Hwy 12, while the apartments open to a wooded creek and the linear park on the north side of the project. The west side of the site includes a small public park that was incorporated into the project.
The total project consists of over 33,000 square feet of commercial and residential space on only a 1.6 acre site, making it a model for future mixed-use developments.
